ROMANS-O-RAMA: Anti-conformity

It’s ROMANS-O-RAMA here on GUWG, where all week long we’re digging into one of the Bible’s most revolutionary books.

Today’s topic: anti-conformity.

Anti-conformity in the Bible? You bet. Here’s today’s verse:

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)

Want to rebel against something? Stop doing things the world’s way and start doing ’em God’s way. Fight evil. Battle racism. Declare war on poverty.  Stamp out injustice. Lovingly.

But how?

The key is right there in the middle of today’s verse: be transformed by the renewing of your mind. God wants to help. Listen to Him. Talk to Him. Read the Bible. Pray.

The more you hang out with God, the more you’ll start to think like Him. You’ll start to see things from His eternal perspective and you’ll get a clearer picture of what the Creator of the Universe wants you to do with your life.
