We’re attempting to answer the question What exactly are Christians supposed to do? by looking at commands straight from the mouth of Jesus.
Here are today’s featured selections:
Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
“I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest!”
Jesus tells his disciples that the harvest is “plentiful” but the workers are “few.” He then urges them to ask for more workers to be sent out into his harvest field.
Jesus invites us mere humans to join him in doing the work of God’s Kingdom. What an awesome, astounding, amazing privilege.
Join Jesus in his work, ask him to open your eyes to all the opportunities around you and pray pray pray for lots and lots and lots of others to join you.
