PSALM-O-RAMA 2015

Poetry. Praise. Passion. Power. Prayer. It’s all there in the Psalms.

It’s PSALM-O-RAMA  2015 here on GUWG where all week we’ll be taking a deeeeep dive into the Book of Psalms.

Let’s start right at the beginning. Here’s a selection from Psalm 1. Memorize it. Marinate in it. Meditate on it.

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord
and who meditates on his law day and night.
(Psalm 1:1-2)

Right off the bat, in the very first sentence, we’re warned about the dangers of sinking into sin.

Note the progression: walking with the wicked standing with ’em … sitting with ’em. Sin has a way of subtly sucking us down until we’re stuck in the muck.

How do you get unstuck? DELIGHT in the law of the Lord. MEDITATE on it day and night. That’s exactly what we’ll do this week.

Got a favorite Psalm you’d like to share with the world? I’d love to hear from you. Leave a comment below, tweet @getupwithgod or email getupwithgod@gmail.com. Thanks!
