Wisdom Week: Relationships

It’s WISDOM WEEK here on GUWG, where we’re probing the practical principles of Proverbs.

Today’s topic? Relationships.

Here’s a trio of “friendly” Proverbs:

A friend loves at all times. (17:17)

Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses. (27:6)

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. (27:17)

Satan loves it when we’re all alone. He does some of his best work when we isolate ourselves away from those who love us most.

Please don’t. Hang out with peeps who love God and love you enough to be real with you.

And go for quality over quantity:

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. (18:24)

Who’s the best friend in the history of the universe? Jesus. No matter how dark things may seem, he’ll stick with you 24/7/365 and then some. He’ll never leave you nor forsake you.

NEVER EVER EVER GO IT ALONE

Discussion

  1. Thanks! A timely message. I was just wondering whether to share some problems I’ve been having with a friend.

  2. GUWG says:

Appreciate the kind words, John! I really believe that one of the BIG problems in this world is that peeps don’t share probs with their friends (myself included). I really very extremely much encourage you to share with your friend. S/he just might share something back that’s burdening him/her. It’s a beautiful thing!
