A fresh start. A clean slate. Endless possibilities. Everything NEW.
To help us all keep that perspective as long as possible, the following is a greatest hits collection of “new” Bible verses. Pray through each and every syllable, asking the Holy Spirit to put ’em deeeeep in your heart as we head into 2019.
New Every Morning. Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:23)
New Heart. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.(Ezekiel 36:26)
New Song. Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things. (Psalm 98:1)
New Perspective. Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. (Isaiah 43:18-19)
New Deal. This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you. (Luke 22:20)

New Heavens and New Earth. Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. (Isaiah 65:17)
What should our response be to all this wonderful new-osity? Take it from Jesus’ close friend, Peter:
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade — kept in heaven for you. (1 Peter 1:3-4)
