Think of the one person on this planet you despise more than anyone else.
Here’s what Jesus said we should do about people like that:
Here are his exact words:
Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:44-45)
You have heard that it was said, “Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.” But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. (Matthew 5:38-43)
What would happen if people actually took Jesus’ words seriously?
Think we’d have less war?
Fewer shootings in our neighborhoods?
Want more peace in the world? Let it start today with you. Ask God to help you LOVE those you hate.
Need more inspiration? Here are a few more verses to put in your ♥:
Do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. (Luke 6:27-28)
Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother or sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. (1 John 2:9, 4:19-20)
Stop the hate.
