Here’s today’s question: What would you do if you knew you only had a few days to live?
Jesus spent much of his last week on earth preaching and teaching. He didn’t want anyone to miss his message.
Some of his core themes that week:
- Walk in the light before darkness overtakes you.
- Follow the path of righteousness: repent and believe.
- Be a humble servant. (Matthew 23:1-12).
He condemned hypocrisy, greed, legalism and self-indulgence. He applauded generosity, compassion, wisdom and spiritual readiness.
The crowds were “astonished at his teaching” (Matthew 22:33). Then, one religious expert tried to test Jesus with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
I love Jesus’ answer:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. (Matthew 22:36-40)
Don’t miss Jesus’ message. Christianity isn’t about rules and regulations or even religion. It’s about relationships. It’s about LOVE.
