We’re taking a deeeeep dive into this rather provocative question: Who did Jesus say he is?
We started with these three answers: Son of Man, Son of God and Messiah.
Now we’re in the midst of eight “I am” statements Jesus made that further define who he is. The first: the Bread of Life. The second: the Light of the World.
Here’s today’s “I am”:
Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Marinate in this little picture for a moment …
Jesus is the gate for the sheep.
Whoever enters through him will be saved.
They’ll come in, go out, and find pasture.
They’ll have life to the FULL.
