Christmas Never Ends

Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. (Luke 2:19)

The presents have all been opened. The food has all been devoured. Aunt Melba has gone back to Toledo. The radio stations have stopped playing Christmas music. The after-Christmas sales have started. Soon all the lights will be dimmed, the decorations shoved back into boxes and the trees kicked to the curb.

Christmas is over, or so the world says.

In the words of Ebenezer Scrooge, to that I say:

BAH!

As Scrooge proclaimed at the end of A Christmas Carol: “I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.”

That’s a nice sentiment. But exactly HOW do real-life non-fictional characters like us keep Christmas in our hearts all year round?

Be like Mary: Treasure up all the joys and wonders of Christmas and never stop pondering ’em deeeeeeep in your heart. Remember that we are never ever alone. That’s the true meaning of Christmas: God with us. Always. Forever.

God’s gifts never run out. Whenever you feel your Christmas joy-o-meter running a little low,  just ask the Holy Spirit to fill you up again. Here’s what the Spirit brings us 24/7/365:

LOVE
JOY
PEACE
PATIENCE
KINDNESS
GOODNESS
FAITHFULNESS
GENTLENESS
SELF-CONTROL
(Galatians 5:22-23)

CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS EVERY DAY!
