One With the Father and Son

GUWG-Cross-Cloud-5We continue our journey into every word spoken by Jesus in the Gospels to help us all KNOW JESUS MORE NOW.

We’re taking a deeeeep dive into this rather provocative question: Who did Jesus say he is?

In his very first words recorded in the Bible, Jesus made it clear that he’s God’s son. We’ve been exploring exactly what he meant by that over the past few days.

Today, we’ll look at a prayer he prayed for his disciples and — get this — you and me. Wow.

Bask in each and every word:

Father, Son and Us

We’re taking a deeeeep dive into this rather provocative question: Who did Jesus say he is?

We started by looking at the title Jesus used most often to refer to himself: Son of Man. For the past few days we’ve been examining another: Son of God.

After Jesus declared that “no one comes to the Father except through me” and “If you really know me, you will know my Father,” Philip chimed in with this request:

Father and Son are One

We’re taking a deeeeep dive into this rather provocative question: Who did Jesus say he is?

Yesterday, we reported on a clash between Jesus and the religious leaders over his claims that God was his Father.

That was just one of many. In another episode, some of the leaders gathered around Jesus, saying, “How long will you keep us in suspense. If you are Messiah, tell us plainly.”

Here’s how Jesus responded:

Like Father Like Son

We’re in the midst of a deeeeep dive into a really BIG question: Who did Jesus say he is?

Yesterday, we looked at Jesus’ first words in the Bible. Right off the bat, he referred to God as his Father.

That claim led to a public clash with the religious leaders. They considered it blasphemy punishable by death because Jesus was “calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.” (John 5:18)

How did Jesus answer the religious leaders with his life on the line? He didn’t back down and told ’em the truth:

Jesus’ First Words

Yesterday, we began taking a deeeeep dive into a really BIG question: Who did Jesus say he is?

We kicked things off with another question: What title did Jesus use most often to refer to himself?

The answer: Son of Man. We then examined lots of verses illustrating what he meant.

Today, we’ll start with another question: What were Jesus’ very first words in the Bible?
