PSALM-O-RAMA: Refuge

GUWG-FortressWe close PSALM-O-RAMA 2015 here on GUWG where all week long we’ve been taking a deep dive into the Psalms.

Today’s selection was suggested by a visitor. She shared the following:

Psalm 91 is my favorite. God recently led me to memorize it, verse by verse. I say it daily, and it never fails to comfort me. I stand on the last 3 verses in particular, as a promise of my son’s salvation and breaking the stronghold of his 10-year drug addiction.

Thanks for sharing this! I suggest we ALL memorize every word (or at least the last three verses).

Never Fear. God is Here.

Here’s an awesome Psalm for times of trouble. Memorize it. Meditate on it. Marinate in it.

God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore, we will not fear,
though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.

“Be still, and know that I am God.”

(Psalm 46:1-3, 10a)
