It was only eight words. Here it is:
Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near. (Matthew 4:17)
Interestingly, Jesus’ cousin John the Baptist started his ministry with those exact same words. (Matthew 3:2)
So, what exactly did Jesus and John mean? Today, we’ll look at the first word. Tomorrow we’ll look at the other seven.

We continue our 40-day journey deeeep into the ♥ of Jesus in honor of Lent.
Joseph, Mary and Jesus – who was 12 years old at the time – were in Jerusalem for the big Passover feast. On their way back home, Joseph and Mary suddenly realize they’ve lost Jesus.
Think about that for a second: they … lost … Jesus. The Savior of the World. The promised Messiah. The King of Kings. The Lord of Lords. The Light of the World.
And they lost him. Yikes.
