Share Your Faith Without Freaking Out

Ever get tongue-tied, weak-kneed or sweaty-palmed when it comes to telling people about Jesus?

I do.

Well, never fear again. This week on GUWG, we’ll be probing what the Bible says about how to share your faith without freaking out.

We’ll start with one of the few topics on which I am truly an expert: how NOT to share your faith. I have made every conceivable mistake you can possibly make in this area.

Without further ado, here’s GUWG’s official:

EVANGELISM “TO DON’T” LIST

Get Engaged

Ever struggle with sharing your faith? Here are some words of witnessing wisdom from the Apostle Paul:

Though I am free and belong to no one, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.

Stupid Arguments

Ever find yourself stuck in a really dumb argument? I’m a lawyer — that’s practically my specialty.

Here’s what the Bible says about this subject:

Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. (2 Timothy 2:23)

When I first became a Christian I got all charged up and went out and pretty much beat people over the head with my Bible. Probably not the best approach. Here’s what the Bible says right after the above verse:

Live Life to the Fullest. Now. Please.

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)

I’ve shared this before, but I feel compelled to share it again. Chokes me up every time.

The following essay was written by a twelve-year-old girl named Brooke Bronkowski. Read every word. Please.

Share!

I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. (Philemon 6)

Never underestimate the impact of sharing your faith. One little conversation can change the world.

Let me tell you a story …

Go Fish

We continue our 40-day journey deeeep into the of Jesus.

Here we discussed Jesus’ first words. Here we talked about Jesus’ first miracle. Here and here we looked at Jesus’ first message.

Today’s topic? Jesus’ first (and last) words to his disciples.

Think evangelism was important to Jesus? Here were his first words to his disciples:

Top 10 Countdown: #8

We’re counting down the top ten Bible verses of all time, as determined by researchers with very large brains who analyze how often each verse is referenced.

Here’s VERSE #8. These were Jesus’ last words before leaving Earth. Pray through ’em. Memorize ’em. And then LIVE ’em.

You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. (Acts 1:8)
